Julie Tumma MD

I joined La Grange Pediatrics in July 2001, after completing my Pediatric Residency training at the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. I completed my medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Prior to entering medical school, I was a substitute teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District for one year. I graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1993 with a BA in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. It was during college that I first realized my calling for mission work, and participated in yearly mission trips to Saltillo, Mexico. I also played in a few orchestras during my college years, including the Tupelo Symphony (yes, there is one).

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. I began to play the violin in fifth grade, and I continue currently as a member of the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest. My personal interests include: music (attending live music shows and performing with the symphony), cooking, camping, collecting all things "Simpsons", playing tennis, and participating in yearly medical mission trips to Catacamas, Honduras.

Professionally, I strive to be a competent, understanding, and compassionate pediatrician. I feel that knowledge balanced with open communication is best in partnering in care for your children.
