Jean Corte
I was born and raised in the Chicago area. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Biology from St. Mary's College, I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. There, I worked full time conducting immunology research while earning a master's degree in Laboratory Medicine and Immunology. I then returned to Chicago to attend Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, graduating in 1980. My pediatric residency training was completed at the University of Chicago.
In 1984, I joined La Grange Pediatrics and had the privilege of working with my predecessors, Dr. Richard Allen and Dr. Paul Wallin. I have been so fortunate to be in a career with great mentors and wonderful families.
As a pediatrician, I view my role as that of a guide and teacher. I hope to help all my patients enjoy healthy lives through preventative care. I enjoy working with families in the spirit of mutual respect and trust.

I have been a partner at La Grange Pediatrics since 1984. I received a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1977 from Northwestern University. I graduated from Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine in 1980 and completed my pediatric residency training at the University of Chicago.
It has been an honor to work at La Grange Pediatrics, the oldest pediatric practice in the western suburbs, established in the 1920s by Dr. Norman Welford.
I was born and raised on the far South Side of Chicago, and have loved living in the La Grange community over the years. I have come to know and care for many wonderful families here.
I love helping parents care for their kids from birth to young adulthood. I can't think of a better job. Keeping my patients healthy physically and emotionally as they grow, learn, and achieve has been very rewarding.

I have been at La Grange pediatrics working as primary care pediatrician since 2001. My roots started in Chicago where I was born. My family lived in the Midwest until I was 13 years old. We moved to Southern California where I attended high school and college. I graduated from UCLA in 1994 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1994 I moved to Illinois to attend Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. After graduating in 1998, I trained in Pediatrics at The Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital at Loyola University. I am board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
I enjoy partnering with my families in raising their children. I especially enjoy helping first time parents navigate through the first few years of their children's lives. My interests include behavioral problems, sleep disturbances and sports related injuries as well as general pediatrics. I am married with two children. In my free time I enjoy running, golfing and spending time with my family.
My general philosophy is to treat my patients the way I would treat my own children.

Julie Tumma
I joined La Grange Pediatrics in July 2001, after completing my Pediatric Residency training at the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL.
I completed my medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Prior to entering medical school, I was a substitute teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District for one year.
I graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1993 with a BA in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. It was during college that I first realized my calling for mission work, and participated in yearly mission trips to Saltillo, Mexico. I also played in a few orchestras during my college years, including the Tupelo Symphony (yes, there is one).
I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. I began to play the violin in fifth grade, and I continue currently as a member of the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest.
My personal interests include: music (attending live music shows and performing with the symphony), cooking, camping, collecting all things "Simpsons", playing tennis, and participating in yearly medical mission trips to Catacamas, Honduras.
Professionally, I strive to be a competent, understanding, and compassionate pediatrician. I feel that knowledge balanced with open communication is best in partnering in care for your children.
